President Jokowi Inaugurates Several Infrastructure Projects in W. Java

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo, accompanied by First Lady Ibu Iriana Jokowi, inaugurated several infrastructure projects in West Java province.

Among those projects are the revitalization of the Callender-Hamilton bridges, the implementation of the Presidential Instruction for Regional Roads (IJD), and the construction of the Ciloseh Bridge.

“Today, thank God, we will inaugurate 16 Callender-Hamilton bridges in West Java province spread across 8 regencies and cities with a total length of 1,030 meters and an investment of Rp1.9 trillion,” President Jokowi said at the inauguration of the Citanduy Bridge, Banjar city, West Java province, Thursday (08/29).

In addition, the President inaugurated the IJD implementation project, which involves 22 road sections spread across 13 regencies and Tasikmalaya city at a cost of Rp521 billion.

“We will also inaugurate the Ciloseh bridge in Tasikmalaya city which costs Rp112 billion,” the President said.

The President expressed hope that the bridge can provide connectivity to Tasikmalaya Wiriadinata Airport and Tasikmalaya city. “We hope that this bridge, which is part of the northern ring of Tasikmalaya city, will improve connectivity and accessibility to the airport and Tasikmalaya city as well as overcome congestion in the city,” he said.

He added that the Government’s infrastructure development in various regions aims to improve connectivity, reduce logistics costs, and facilitate the mobility of people and goods.
