President Prabowo Sets to Pay State Visits to Several Countries
President Prabowo Subianto on Wednesday (11/06) chaired the Plenary Cabinet Meeting at the Presidential Office, Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta.
In his introductory remarks, the President outlined plan for state visits to several countries.
“My plan is to attend the APEC Summit in Peru and the G-20 Summit in Brazil. I will also pay state visits to China, to the United States, and to the United Kingdom to meet the Prime Minister,” the President stated.
The President also said that he is slated to attend the G7 Summit in Italy.
According to the President, the state visits play a significant and strategic role for the national economy.
“We must negotiate, explore existing potential, and resolve crucial and strategic issues with these countries, which are part of very important economic blocs. It is very crucial to the survival of our economy,” the President said.
The President also highlighted the importance of technology, including video conference, to maintain effective communication during the visits.
On that occasion, the President also urged Cabinet Ministers to speed up their work using technology.
“You may use technology, but of course, sensitive matters should not be discussed over the phone,” the President remarked. (KS/DNS) (RI/MMB)
