President Jokowi, First Lady Bid Farewell to Staffers, Journalists

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo and First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo on Thursday (10/10) at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, bade farewell to staffers and journalists.

On that occasion, the President and the First Lady joined group photo sessions with staffers, sanitary workers, security detail personnel, and journalists. President Jokowi and Ibu Iriana expressed their gratitude to all personnel who have worked with them during the President Jokowi’s administration.

Captain Handi Sabush, personnel of the Presidential Security Detail (Paspampres) expressed his gratitude to the President. “My fellow Paspampres personnel and I express our gratitude [to the President]. We extend our appreciation for your endeavor, and we wish you all the best for your end of tenure. May you and your family always be in good health,” he stated.

In the meantime, Frisca Clarissa, a journalist from Kompas TV, and Andrian Pratama Taher, a journalist from Tirto.id, also expressed their joy for their experience as journalists during President Jokowi’s administration.

Suherman, a gardener who has been working at the palace for 20 years, and Claudio, a waiter who has served the President and the First Lady for five years, said that they were proud joining a group photo session with President Jokowi, and that the President and the First Lady were always kind to them.

Imam Tambunan, a sanitary worker who has been working for ten years, said that the farewell made him sad, and recalled that the President once invited Imam to the President’s office. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat/DNS) (RI/MUR)
