President Prabowo Subianto Arrives in Jeddah for Strategic State Visit

President Prabowo Subianto arrived in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, Tuesday (07/01) to begin a state visit. The presidential aircraft landed at the Royal Terminal of King Abdulaziz International Airport at 21:12 local time. The Saudi Arabian Government and the Indonesian community in Saudi Arabia warmly welcomed the President’s arrival.

His arrival was greeted by a delegation from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in a ceremonial honor guard. High level Saudi officials present on this occasion were, among others, Minister Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi, Deputy Governor of Mecca Prince Saud bin Mis’al bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud, and Mayor of Jeddah Saleh Ali Al-Turki.

President Prabowo was also welcomed by an honor guard. As he passed the troops, 21-gun salutes were fired to welcome the President’s arrival. From the Indonesian Government, the Indonesian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Abdul Aziz and the Defense Attaché of the Indonesian Embassy in Riyadh Brigadier General Eri Nasuhi attended the welcoming ceremony.

Upon arrival at the hotel, the President was warmly greeted by students of the Indonesian School in Jeddah and members of the Indonesian diaspora. The students, dressed in traditional costumes and school uniforms, waved Indonesian and Saudi Arabian flags.

Two students from the Indonesian School in Jeddah presented a flower bouquet to President Prabowo. He then greeted the students and took a group photo with them.

The following day, President Prabowo will attend a state reception at Al-Salam Palace and a meeting between President Prabowo and the Crown Prince, as well as Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud.

This visit is expected to strengthen strategic cooperation between Indonesia and Saudi Arabia in various sectors. Additionally, the visit is part of Indonesia’s active diplomacy efforts based on national interests and global peace. (LYS/TGH) (EST/MMB)
