President Prabowo: Danantara Strengthens National Economic Resilience Amid Global Crisis
President Prabowo delivers his remarks at the celebration of the 1st Anniversary of Danantara Indonesia held at Wisma Danantara on Wednesday (3/11).
Presiden Prabowo Subianto emphasized Danantara’s strategic role in strengthening national economic resilience, particularly amid the global crisis. This was conveyed in his remarks at the celebration of the 1st anniversary of Danantara Indonesia, held at Wisma Danantara on Wednesday (3/11).
“Ladies and gentlemen, this is increasingly urgent because we see the world today is full of uncertainty. Crisis happens everywhere. But ladies and gentlemen, crises always create opportunities; crises are tests; crises are stepping stones. The strong will survive, while the weak will continue to suffer. This is a lesson from history,” said the President.
On the occasion, the Head of State expressed optimism that Indonesia, with its vast natural resource wealth, is capable of facing global challenges. He believes that this resource is a strength in maintaining national economic stability and resilience.
“I am confident and believe that Indonesia is blessed with extraordinary natural wealth and we are capable of recovering from this crisis. We are going to be stronger. I think, this crisis is a blessing in disguise,” he said.
Furthermore, President Prabowo delivered several actions the Government has taken to achieve national resilience, among others the food and energy self-sufficiency program that has been running, with Danantara’s involvement.
“We have already had a food self-sufficiency plan, and Alhamdulilah, it has been achieved partly. We have also planned for energy self-sufficiency which we are confident will be achieved in the next four years,” he said.
In addition to playing a role in the Government’s efforts to ensure national resilience and sovereignty, the Head of State also emphasized that Danantara is proof of Indonesia’s ability to manage state assets professionally and on par with other countries’ sovereign wealth funds.
“Danantara is also proof that Indonesia, with determination and strong will, is capable of achieving great things, able to be equal to the other countries’ achievement,” he added.
President Prabowo urged all Danantara staff to continue to maintain good governance to preserve and improve its performance. “Remember, the hopes of the entire nation, of all the people, rest on your shoulders. You are safeguarding and managing the wealth of our children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren,” he added.
