President Prabowo Holds Cabinet Meeting Discussing Strengthening of Industries, Downstreaming

President Prabowo Subianto held a cabinet meeting with several members of the Red and White Cabinet discussing national industry strengthening, technology development as well as downstream and energy projects. Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, in his written statement, explained that the meeting was held at President Prabowo’s residence in Hambalang, Bogor, West Java province.

“On Sunday, January 11, 2026, President Prabowo Subianto held a cabinet meeting at his residence in Hambalang, Bogor, West Java,” wrote Cabinet Secretary.

He noted that the President asked for strengthening the national textile and garment industry through supply chain revitalization.

In addition to textile and garment industry, the meeting also discussed the automotive/electronics sector through investment in semiconductor technological development in order to build a future industry.

“It aims to build Indonesia’s future chip industry used in the automotive, digital, and electronic industries,” he explained.

Furthermore, President Prabowo also noted the progress of the national downstreaming project plan, including the groundbreaking plan, in early February, in six locations with a total investment of US$6 billion.

Another strategic agenda discussed in the meeting was Pertamina’s integrated energy infrastructure (RDMP) in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan province, which will be launched on January 12.

“Tomorrow, Monday, January 12, 2026, we will officially launch Pertamina’s integrated energy infrastructure (RDMP) in Balikpapan,” the Cabinet Secretary said.

The meeting marked the Government’s focus on national industry strengthening, future technology development, as well as the acceleration of downstream and national energy infrastructure projects.

Also attending the meeting were Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartanto, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia, Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of Investment Coordinating Board/CEO of Danantara Rosan Roeslani, Minister of Agriculture Amran Sulaiman, Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology Brian Yuliarto, and Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (RD/MMB)
