President Prabowo Subianto, on Monday (02/09), delivered his directives to participants of the Indonesian National Defense Forces (TNI)-National Police (Polri) Leadership Meeting held at the central courtyard of the Presidential Palace in Jakarta. Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi said that this event is an annual routine event held at the beginning of the year as a forum for consolidation of TNI and Polri leadership.
“So today, the President delivered his directives at a TNI and Polri leadership meeting. This is actually an annual routine agenda. So, every beginning of the year, there is always a meeting of the TNI and Polri leaders. Today, Alhamdulilah, the President invited the TNI and Polri leaders for a briefing at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta,” the Minister told the media after the event.
In his briefing, the President emphasized the strategic role of the TNI and Polri as national defense and security institutions that must be professional, continuously strengthened, and always close to the people. He also expressed his appreciation and gratitude for the dedication of the TNI and Polri during more than a year of his leadership, particularly in supporting and ensuring the success of Government programs focusing on the interests of the people.
“He also expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the TNI and Polri which more than a year under President Prabowo’s leadership have consistently been at the forefront of assisting and succeeding all Government programs. All of these programs are always oriented toward the interests of the people, the nation, and the state, above all individual or group interests,” said the Minister.
Furthermore, President Prabowo reiterated the importance of unity and solidarity within the TNI and Polri in facing national challenges. Regarding personnel welfare, he asked the TNI and Polri leaders to give rewards to personnel who demonstrate extraordinary dedication and service.
“The President specifically stated that he asked the TNI and Polri leaders not to hesitate to give rewards to TNI and Polri personnel who have demonstrated their devotion to the nation and state, and their dedication through various forms of recognition,” he said.
In addition, Minister Prasetyo said that this briefing also evaluated the TNI and Polri to continue to be strong and professional institutions that stand up for the interests of the people. He also highlighted the significant role of the TNI and Polri, which have been at the forefront of disaster management and supporting development in remote areas.
“In disaster management, the TNI and Polri are at the forefront. Meanwhile, in the construction of various Government programs, including bridges in remote areas, the TNI and Polri have been working hard to contribute to the construction, alleviating the burden on the people,” he added.
Regarding preparations for Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr, Minister Prasetya emphasized that cross-ministerial coordination remains ongoing, with the active involvement of the TNI and Polri, particularly in maintaining public order and security. “The President’s directives have been specifically delivered in the forum, but we continue to coordinate in various cross-ministerial forums to prepare for the holy month of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr. Both TNI and Polri are always present, as they are interrelated,” he concluded. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (JAS/MMB)
