President Prabowo Subianto Expresses Optimism for 8% Economic Growth
President Prabowo Subianto expressed his optimism that Indonesia could achieve the target of eight percent economic growth.
“I am now in my third month leading the Government of the Republic of Indonesia, and the more I learn the state of our economy, the more confident and optimistic I feel. I believe and I am convinced, that we will achieve, or perhaps even exceed, eight percent growth,” President Prabowo said at the National Meeting of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Jakarta, Thursday (01/16).
According to the President, economic policies must be carried out efficiently and based on logic and accurate calculations.
“No organization can survive if expenses exceed income. Therefore, I am determined to lead an efficient government,” the President stated.
In his remarks, the President also highlighted the importance of the private sector’s role in national development, particularly in infrastructure.
President Prabowo also stated that food self-sufficiency and renewable energy are part of top priorities for his administration.
“Our targets are clear. We aim to achieve food self-sufficiency in four years. Having said that, we may be pleasantly surprised to achieve it much earlier. The same applies to energy self-sufficiency. There are few countries in the world that will have green energy like ours. We will have comprehensive and substantial renewable energy,” the President remarked. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat/ABD) (RI/LW)
