The 2027 State Budget Bill was officially passed into law during a plenary session of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) on Tuesday (09/29). The 2027 State Budget focuses on eight clusters of National Priority Work Programs to maintain economic growth momentum while accelerating improvements in public welfare.

The eight clusters include food sovereignty; energy and water self-sufficiency; education; health; downstreaming and industrialization; infrastructure, housing, and disaster resilience; the people’s economy and village development; and poverty reduction. In addition, the 2027 State Budget supports programs in defense and security, law enforcement, government governance, digitalization, and economic diplomacy.

Minister of Finance Suahasil Nazara said that the 2027 State Budget is designed to remain expansionary, collaborative, targeted, and measurable to support the implementation of national priorities while maintaining fiscal credibility and sustainability.

“Fiscal policy must be present to maintain growth momentum and protect the public while maintaining its credibility. The 2027 fiscal policy is designed to remain expansionary in a collaborative, targeted, and measurable manner, with a deficit of 2.4 percent of GDP,” the Minister said, as quoted from the Ministry of Finance’s website on Thursday (10/01).

To support these priorities, state revenue in the 2027 State Budget is projected to reach Rp3,435.1 trillion, while state expenditure is set at Rp4,106.3 trillion. Meanwhile, financing amounting to Rp671.2 trillion will be carried out in an innovative and measurable manner.

Budget allocations are also directed toward strengthening programs that have a direct impact on the public, including an education budget of Rp824 trillion, social protection of Rp539.7 trillion, and food security of Rp195.3 trillion.

“These figures are not merely fiscal targets. Behind them lies the Government’s responsibility to maintain development momentum while ensuring that every rupiah is managed carefully and provides tangible benefits to all Indonesians,” he concluded.
