President Prabowo leads the 80th Bhayangkara Day Commemoration Ceremony of 2026 at the Mobile Brigade Corps (Brimob) Training Unit Field, Cikeas, Bogor regency, on Wednesday (07/01).

President Prabowo Subianto delivered six key messages to all personnel of the Indonesian National Police (Polri) while leading the Commemoration Ceremony of the 80th Bhayangkara Day at the Mobile Brigade Corps (Brimob) Training Unit Field, Cikeas, Bogor regency, on Wednesday (07/01). The Head of State emphasized that public trust is the most valuable asset that must be continuously maintained by every police officer.

In his address, the President highlighted that being close to the people must remain the defining characteristic of every police officer. According to the President, Polri personnel must always be present when the public needs them, provide the best service, and carry out their duties to protect the people.

“First, maintain the people’s trust. Trust is the greatest strength of a police officer. Second, be a police officer who is close to the people. Be there when the people need you. Listen to the people, serve the people, and protect the people. Never become a burden to them. Remember, our salaries as state officials come from the people. All our equipment is funded by the people. Therefore, we must truly protect and serve our people,” the President stated.

The President also underlined the importance of equitable law enforcement. The Head of State urged all Polri personnel to courageously defend the truth, protect the vulnerable, and remain undaunted in carrying out their duties regardless of any pressure.

“Third, enforce the law fairly. Have the courage to defend what is right. Dare to protect the weak. Never fear anyone. We only fear God the Almighty,” the President asserted.

In response to ever-evolving security challenges, the President also called on Polri to continuously improve its professionalism by mastering science, technology, and artificial intelligence (AI). According to the President, these capabilities are essential to addressing various forms of crime, both present and future.

“Fourth, continue to improve your professionalism. Master science. Master technology. Master artificial intelligence. The crimes of today and the tomorrow can only be tackled by apparatuses who are committed to learning, intelligent, and highly reliable,” the President remarked.

Moreover, President Prabowo reiterated that maintaining public security and order cannot be achieved by Polri alone. Therefore, he called for stronger synergy with the Indonesian National Defense Forces (TNI), the Government, community leaders, religious leaders, academics, the media, business actors, farmers, fishers, laborers, and all elements of the nation.

“Fifth, strengthen synergy. Polri cannot work alone. Polri must always stand together with other institutions, along with the TNI, the Government, all government institutions, community leaders, religious leaders, academics, the media, businesspeople, farmers, fishers, and laborers, and all the people of Indonesia,” the President expressed.

President Prabowo also called on all Bhayangkara personnel to continuously improve themselves and build an institution that remains humble and open to change. He asserted that a great institution is one that is willing to listen, while a strong institution is one that dares to change in order to maintain public trust.

“Sixth, never stop improving yourselves. Never be arrogant. [Like a rice stalk,] the more grains it bears, the lower it bows. Being humble does not mean being inferior. In fact, those who are truly strong will be courteous and well-behaved. A great institution is one that listens. A strong institution is one that has the courage to change. An institution loved by the people is one that always remains humble,” the President concluded.

The six messages affirmed the direction of Polri’s future development, namely building an institution that is increasingly professional, modern, and upholds integrity while remaining firmly committed to serving the public. Through public trust, equitable law enforcement, enhanced professionalism, national synergy, and a commitment to continuous improvement, Polri is expected to further strengthen its role as the nation’s protector, guardian, and public servant, as well as the primary pillar of national stability.
