Researchers Invited to Showcase Research Findings at Presidential Palace for the First Time

President Prabowo Subianto, Thursday (8/6), held a meeting with 150 researchers from the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta. For the first time, researchers across Indonesia were invited to discuss and showcase their research findings and innovation to President Prabowo.

“The honorable Mr. President, with all due respect, we report that today on Thursday, August 6, a total of 150 researchers across Indonesia has come to the Merdeka Palace for the first time. It is also the first experience of them to bring and showcase the research findings and strategic innovation created by themselves to be presented to Mr. President,” Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya said in his remarks.

Meanwhile, in his report, the BRIN Head Arif Satria expressed his highest appreciation and gratitude to the President for inviting researchers to the Presidential Palace in Jakarta. He said that this opportunity was such an honor and served as a source of encouragement for researchers to continue innovating.

“In addition, this event reflects the President’s strong commitment where research and innovation serve as an essential foundation to achieve Indonesia that is advanced, independent, and competitive towards Golden Indonesia 2045 vision,” the BRIN Head said.

President Prabowo said that the invitation aimed at seeing firsthand and gaining an overview of the research findings and innovation of BRIN. The Head of State appreciated the research findings and innovation that have been resulted.

“Thank you for your coming here, at the Palace. I hope that someday I can visit your campuses as well. I once visited the Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI) in Cibinong if I’m not mistaken and also in some other places,” he said.

In his opening remarks, the President emphasized that mastery of science and technology is a key factor in determining a nation’s progress, adding that countries capable of developing and mastering these fields would advance rapidly.

“The key lies in science and technology. This is a fact related to the mastery of science and technology. Education serves as the foundation, the most critical, vital cornerstone,” he added.

The meeting serves as a strong symbol of the Government’s commitment to positioning research and innovation as primary pillars of national development. By strengthening ties between the Government and the scientific community, it is hoped that research findings produced by the nation’s own researchers can be more swiftly commercialized and utilized by the public, serving as a driving force towards Golden Indonesia 2045 vision.
