President Prabowo Subianto held an official banquet to welcome the Premier of the People’s Republic of China H.E. Li Qiang at the State Palace Jakarta, on Sunday (05/25). The official banquet also served as a means to bolster diplomatic ties between Indonesia and China.

In his remarks, the President conveyed his appreciation for Premier Li Qiang’s official visit to Indonesia. Furthermore, he affirmed that their previous bilateral meeting produced many strategic agreements.

“We are confident that this cooperation will bring benefits for both our nations and peoples. More importantly, we believe that it will also foster peace in the Southeast Asian region and even Asia and the Pacific,” the President said.

Meanwhile, Premier Li expressed his happiness about the visit to Indonesia on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries. He further underscored that the relations of the two countries have grown closer based on mutual trust and a shared desire to support each other on the path toward joint modernization.

“I would also like to extend my congratulations on the remarkable development achievements that Indonesia has made in recent years. I also wish to express my sincere appreciation for the warm welcome extended to me by President Prabowo and the Government of Indonesia. Looking ahead, China stands ready to work hand in hand with Indonesia to deepen bilateral cooperation, pursue shared success in our modernization efforts, and embrace a bright future together,” Premier Li Qiang remarked.

The official banquet presented the traditional food combined with international taste such as oxtail soup and wingko babat (Javanese coconut sticky rice cake). The guests were also entertained with cultural and art performances such as a traditional dance from Dayak Kenyah of East Kalimantan, as well as classical and popular songs of both countries.

After the banquet concluded, President Prabowo accompanied Premier Li to his vehicle reflecting the utmost respect and friendship between both leaders. Cordiality, arts, and respect for each other showcased in this banquet strongly symbolized the commitment of Indonesia and China to walk together toward a more prosperous future.
