Upon arrival, President Prabowo Subianto welcomed his Turkish counterpart with a firm handshake amidst the heavy rain that fell on Jakarta that evening.

Afterwards, President Erdogan and Mrs. Emine Erdogan paid their respects to the Indonesian and Turkish flags carried by the flag-carrying troops.

Accompanied by six cannon blasts and the music of “Victory Drums” or “Genderang Kemenangan,” the welcoming atmosphere was even more sacred and full of pride.

The nuances of Indonesian culture were increasingly felt with the accompaniment of gambang kromong music which adds to the warm and intimate feel of welcoming President Erdogan.
