President Prabowo: Indonesia’s Wealth Shall Be Transformed into Indonesia’s Strength
President Prabowo Subianto emphasized that the Government’s policy would transform Indonesia’s wealth into strength, aimed at delivering tangible benefits for the people. The President delivered this commitment during the Presentation of the Government Statement on the Bill on the State Budget for the 2027 Fiscal Year and Its Financial Note before the Plenary Session of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia of the 2026-2027 Session Year, held at the Nusantara building, Parliamentary complex, Jakarta, Friday (8/14).
“All policies that we take have one goal: transforming Indonesia’s wealth into Indonesia’s strength. Renovation of 10,000 Puskemas, construction of 441 Regional General Hospitals, and renovation of all schools from Sabang to Merauke, from Miangas to Rote, will ensure that the state is present to provide the people’s most basic needs,” the President stressed.
The Government would also strengthen commodity exchange, optimize SOEs’ assets, establish Indonesia International Financial Center (IIFC) and develop Danantara Development Management Fund (DDMF) to finance intergenerational projects. In the industrial sector, the Government would encourage the creation of a market for national products through electric vehicle subsidies.
“We are not building an economy that only looks good on numbers. We are building a nation that is sovereign in decision making, fair in distribution, and present in people’s lives,” he continued.
Therefore, the President urged all people to monitor the development agenda. Every program, he explained, shall give tangible benefits and be conducted with discipline.
“No more projects should receive substantial funding without delivering substantial benefits. No more incentives without a new project. No more investment without transfer of technology. Every rupiah must serve a purpose. Every policy must have measurable outcomes. Every government official must have accountability,” the President stated.
Furthermore, the President underscored that the Government’s primary duty is to protect all the people of Indonesia and the entire homeland from all threats, including threats of poverty, hunger, layoffs, and inability to access healthcare. Therefore, he highlighted that the state budget must be spent to bring benefits to the people.
“Governments at all levels, not only the central government, regional governments, provincial governments, regency/city governments, but also village governments must eradicate corruption, fraud, and markup practices in spending,” he stressed. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (RD/MMB)
