Indonesia, UAE Agree to Strengthen Partnership

President Prabowo Subianto, on Thursday (02/26), held a bilateral meeting with President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan (MBZ) at Qasr Al Bahr, Abu Dhabi. Both leaders agreed to strengthen bilateral relations and enhance investment cooperation between the two countries.
In a warm and friendly atmosphere, the two leaders discussed concrete measures to deepen strategic partnership between Indonesia and the UAE, especially in investment and economy. President MBZ directly stated the UAE’s commitment to boost its investment in Indonesia.
“The meeting discussed enhancing investment cooperation and strengthening bilateral [cooperation]. The UAE is aiming to boost its investment in Indonesia,” Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya said after accompanying President Prabowo to the meeting.
This increased cooperation marks a milestone in the bilateral relationship between the two countries, which is known for its close and mutually beneficial nature. Indonesia is also seen as a key strategic partner in Southeast Asia, particularly in the areas of energy, infrastructure, and future economic development.
President Prabowo welcomed the commitment and reaffirmed Indonesia’s readiness to continuously strengthen a conducive and sustainable investment climate. The Government of Indonesia also opens wider collaboration opportunities for the UAE’s investors in various national priority sectors.
The meeting also underscores the bilateral relationship between Indonesia and the UAE as it moves toward a more comprehensive, long-term strategic partnership. Its significance is further heightened as it coincides with the 50th anniversary of both countries’ diplomatic relations in 2026, marking half a century of ties now entering a new phase focused on investment, economic growth, and future partnerships.
