President Prabowo Affirms Commitment to Enhance Indonesia-China Relations

Kicking off his state visit to the People’s Republic of China, President Prabowo Subianto held a bilateral meeting with Chairman of the National People’s Congress of the People’s Republic of China Zhao Leji at the Great Hall of the People, Beijing, China, Saturday (11/09).

In his introductory remarks, the President expressed his appreciation for the warm welcome from the Government and people of China that signified a great regard to the bilateral relations of the two countries.

“It is a great honor for me to be received by Your Excellency,” the President said while thanking Zhao Leji  and members of the National People’s Congress of the People’s Republic of China.

He also emphasized that his state visit reflects Indonesia’s commitment to maintain and enhance the relations between Indonesia and China.

“It shows our great regard for the people of the Republic of China and commitment to maintain and enhance the relations between our two countries,” he added.

On that occasion, President Prabowo told Zhao Leji that he will meet with the President and Premier of China to discuss measures to enhance Indonesia-China’s strategic partnership in the sectors of economy, trade, and investment.

“I will have good discussions with the Chinese Government, including the President and Premier. We will also formulate more enhancing ways to increase our cooperation and friendship,” he stated.

In the meantime, Zhao Leji extended his congratulations to President Prabowo for his inauguration. He expressed hope that this meeting will raise spirit for the progress of both countries and strengthen the relations between Indonesia and China.
