President Prabowo Emphasizes Data Sovereignty as Foundation for National Unity

President Prabowo Subianto received the Joint Drafting Team for the One Data Indonesia Law at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, Thursday (10/29). During the meeting, President Prabowo emphasized that data sovereignty is a pivotal foundation for safeguarding national unity amid increasingly rapid development of digitalization.

“President Prabowo emphasized that data sovereignty is a crucial foundation for safeguarding national unity amid rapid digitalization,” as quoted from a post on the @sekretariat.kabinet social media account.

The drafting of the One Data Indonesia Law is directed at strengthening national data governance. Its discussion involved the House of Representatives (DPR), academics, and relevant ministries and institutions. According to the post, national data integration is expected to support the delivery of more accurate public services while strengthening security in information exchange.

“Data integration is expected to support more accurate public services as well as strengthen the security of information exchange and cyber resilience,” the post read.

The drafting of the One Data Indonesia Law is also aimed at establishing integrated, secure, and accountable national data governance. With increasingly integrated data systems, the Government is expected to have a stronger information base for delivering services to the public.

The drafting of this law is part of efforts to strengthen integrated, secure, and accountable national data governance, while ensuring that data is used to improve the quality of public services and safeguard Indonesia’s sovereignty. (BPMI) (EST/MMB)
