Presiden Prabowo Subianto menerima laporan survei pergerakan pada Sidang Kabinet Paripurna di Istana Negara, Jakarta, pada Jumat, 13 Maret 2026.

President Prabowo receives a report on Eid Homecoming preparedness on Friday (03/13).

The Government has ensured the safety of the 2026 Eid homecoming (mudik) season through a series of strategic measures, including preparing public transportation services and implementing integrated safety operations, such as Ketupat Operation, which involves the deployment of hundreds of thousands of personnel.

Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwagandhi reported that, based on a population mobility survey, an estimated 143.91 million people, or 50.6% of the population, are expected to take part in the Eid 1447 H modus exodus.

“This figure is down 1.75% from last year’s projection of 146 million, although the actual number in 2025 reached 154 million. This shows that people’s mobility during Eid generally exceeds survey estimates,” the Minister said during the Plenary Cabinet Meeting, Friday (03/13).

The survey also shows that private cars will dominate, with 76.24 million travelers expected to use them, followed by motorcycles and buses.

“The busiest transportation hubs are Soekarno-Hatta airport, the Merak-Bakauheni ferry crossing, Pasar Senen railway station, and the Pulogebang bus terminal,” he explained.

To ensure a smooth flow of mudik travel, the Government has prepared various modes of transportation, including 31,000 buses, 840 ships, 254 ferries, 372 aircraft, and 3,687 trips by train.

In addition, the Government has organized a free mudik transportation program across multiple modes,  targeting 113,262 passengers and 12,140 motorcycles.

“The free mudik program will also cover disaster-affected areas in Sumatra, including Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra,” he said.

Chief of Indonesian Police Listyo Sigit Prabowo explained that the theme of the 2026 Ketupat Operation is “A Safe Homecoming, a Happy Family”. He added that a total 161,243 personnel will be deployed in this safety operation.

“Our target is to maintain people’s satisfaction with these services. For the record, a 2025 survey showed that 90.9% people were satisfied, so we aim to sustain or even improve that level,” he said.

The Government expressed optimism that the 2026 Eid mudik trips would be better, safer, and more joyful for people travelling with their loved ones.  (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (RD/EP)
