President Prabowo greets U.S. President Donald Trump following the BoP Charter Signing at Davos, Switzerland, on Thursday (01/22).

President Prabowo Subianto on Thursday (01/22) expressed optimism that the Board of Peace (BoP) Charter initiated by U.S. President Donald Trump would bring about peace in Gaza.

Indonesia’s participation in BoP, according to President Prabowo, marked a historic milestone as a concrete action to promote peace, particularly in Palestine. “I think this is a historical moment. This is truly an opportunity to establish peace in Gaza” said the President to the media crew.

In his statement, he noted the positive situation in Gaza. The President also emphasized Indonesia’s preparedness in its contribution to the forum, showing its commitment to humanity and world peace.

“Clearly, the people of Gaza are in less pain. Humanity aids are coming in huge amounts. I wish we would take part,” he said.

Regarding BoP membership, President Prabowo said the forum is open to any country that has a vision for peace and humanity. “Anyone who aims for peace in Gaza, help the people, people of Gaza,” said the President.

Meanwhile, President Trump, in his remarks, said that BoP is one of the most important and historical peace initiatives. He emphasized that BoP consisted of world leaders who have a great influence on world peace.

“Everyone in this room is a star. There are reasons why you are here, and all of you are stars, the great people, the most important people in the world, the most influential people. And when you use your amazing and inspirational genius, you use it for peace,” said President Trump.

“I just want to say that it is a great pleasure to stand with you. And I think this is an important milestone that we have achieved. This is the most important. I am looking forward to being here,” he concluded. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (RD/LW)
