Members of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) have expressed appreciation for President Prabowo Subianto’s commitment to developing human capital.

The President said developing human capital and preparing future leaders are among his priorities for advancing Indonesia, and urged the private sector to collaborate.

He made the statement during a meeting with participants of the first batch of the Presidential Program for Indonesia’s Future Leaders (P3MDI) and participants of the National Leaders’ Meeting of Kadin at his private residence in Hambalang village, Bogor regency, West Java province, Saturday (10/31).

According to Kadin member James Riyadi, President Prabowo pays special attention to human development as the foundation of national advancement, especially in shaping character and leadership capacities.

“Today, private-sector leaders see an extraordinary president. He is dedicated to education and human development. He said that a great nation depends on human development, especially the development of leaders with character, and he expressed this with genuine sincerity. He wants Indonesia to become a developed country respected by all,” he said.

James also expressed the President’s efforts to expand development opportunities for younger generations through a merit-based system, including those from disadvantaged groups.

“This is his vision. He has a vision, and he has the guts to make this vision come true, so we have no other choice but to support it because these young people, over 300 of them, hold an undergraduate degree, have 1 to 2 years of experience, and will be trained intensively for nine months. With proper training and screening process, I believe, seeing their faces, they can be future leaders,” he said.

Echoing a similar sentiment, Kadin’s Vice Chairperson for Food Affairs Mulyadi Jayabaya stated that President Prabowo’s remarks gave insights into the state’s responsibility for national advancement, noting that everyone needs to support the Government’s development programs, including in food, education, and security sectors.

“Extraordinary. This briefing from the President—from Mr. Prabowo—is truly remarkable. It has provided us with insight into the responsibilities of the state; the nation must move forward, and this is truly extraordinary,” he said.

According to Mulyadi, the private sector plays an important role as the Government’s partner to support development programs, including through P3MDI.

He added that synergy between the Government and the private sector is required to strengthen national food security and prepare a generation of leaders who can continue Indonesia’s development.

“Let us work together—the private sector and the Government—because Kadin serves as a partner. We must support P3MDI so we can achieve food security,” he remarked. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (DH/MMB)
