President Prabowo, PM Wong Agree to Promote Peaceful Solutions for Global Conflicts

President Prabowo Subianto and Prime Minister of Singapore Lawrence Wong have agreed to promote peaceful solutions for regional and global conflicts.
“We have discussed regional and global conflicts. We express deep concern over the situation in Gaza and the escalating Israel-Iran conflict. We underscore the importance of peaceful solutions, negotiations, and call for an immediate ceasefire,” President Prabowo said at a joint press conference after the Leaders’ Retreat at Singapore’s Parliament House, Monday (06/16).
President Prabowo also said that both countries share deep concern over the escalation of conflicts in the Middle East, particularly in Gaza, and the rising tension between Israel and Iran.
Regarding the situation in Myanmar, President Prabowo and PM Wong also highlighted the importance of constructive engagement to achieve a peaceful solution.
“On Myanmar, we agreed that we must focus on achieving engagement and peaceful outcomes,” President Prabowo stated.
On that occasion, Prime Minister Lawrence Wong reaffirmed Singapore’s commitment to strengthening regional cooperation with ASEAN member states.
“As founding members of ASEAN, we will continue to work closely with our fellow ASEAN member states to strengthen our region and uphold the rules-based multilateral system,” PM Wong said.
In the spirit of multilateralism and regional stability, both leaders affirmed that Indonesia and Singapore have a strategic role in maintaining peace and reinforcing a rules-based international order.
