The atmosphere at Waikabubak Regional Hospital, West Sumba regency, East Nusa Tenggara province, Wednesday (10/02), became warm with a special welcome from two 5th grade students of Marsudirini Catholic Elementary School, Clarion and Belva. President Joko Widodo’s arrival at the hospital was greeted with a sincere poem, the result of a collaboration between them and teachers, nurses, and soldiers.

Clarion and Belva looked enthusiastic when reciting the poem entitled “Terimalah Kasihku” (accept my love), which they wrote specifically to welcome the President. The poem contained an expression of gratitude and thanks for the President’s attention to the development and welfare of the people of West Sumba, as evidenced by the provision of health facilities for them.

“We can’t believe that we meet Mr. Jokowi in person. Usually we can only see him on TV,” said Clarion with a smile after finishing reciting the poem before the President.

When meeting them both, President Jokowi expressed his interest and friendliness. Claron and Belva also said they were happy to meet President Jokowi in person and believed that President Jokowi is a good and caring person.

“He asked our names, what class we were in, then he urged us to always keep learning,” said Belva while recalling the precious moment.

In the excerpt from the poem, Clarion and Belva expressed their deep gratitude to the President, especially for the development that had been carried out in their area. The poem also reflected their gratitude for the presence of President Jokowi who has contributed greatly to their area, including the hospitals that have provided better health services.

According to Clarion and Belva, their brief meeting with President Jokowi was an unforgettable, beautiful memory. At the end of the meeting, they expressed their hope that the President will always be healthy and continue to bring goodness to the community.

“May Mr. Jokowi always be good and healthy,” prayed Clarion and Belva. (BPMI of the Presidential Secretariat/ABD) (TM/MMB)
