Gov’t Prepares Measures to Maintain Economic Resilience, Growth amid Shifting Global Dynamics

President Prabowo Subianto, Tuesday (04/21), met with Chairperson of the National Economic Council Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan at Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Tuesday (04/21), to discuss national economic developments amid global dynamics and formulate strategic measures to maintain stability and growth.
“The meeting discussed domestic economic growth and global dynamics. National economic activities remain resilient, though vigilance remains necessary. The Government is preparing anticipatory measures to respond to the impacts of global conflicts and maintain the momentum of growth,” Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya stated in a press statement following the meeting.
According to Teddy, Luhut also presented several policy scenarios prepared by the Government to maintain people’s purchasing power and fiscal stability.
“The Chairperson of the National Economic Council presented several policy scenarios to maintain the people’s purchasing power and ensure that the State Budget remains under control, including by strengthening the digitalization of government services (govtech),” he said.
Teddy further stated that one of the ongoing concrete measures is the digitalized social assistance pilot program in Banyuwangi regency, designed to enhance transparency and ensure accurate distribution.
“Digitalized social assistance has entered the trial phase in Banyuwangi, and the adoption will be expanded to 42 regencies/cities. This measure is aimed at improving transparency and accuracy of social assistance distribution,” he said.
Teddy also pointed out that the Government continues to seize opportunities amid shifting global dynamics, particularly in drawing investment from the Middle East.
“The Government saw the opportunity to attract capital investment, especially from the Middle East, by accelerating the establishment of the Indonesia Financial Center to bolster national investment appeal,” he remarked. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (DH/TM)
