A different atmosphere pervaded the Exhibition Hall of the Turkiye Presidential Palace Complex, Thursday evening (04/10). In a grand and warm atmosphere, the President of the Republic of Turkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, held a state dinner to honor the visit of President Prabowo Subianto and his delegates.

Not merely a diplomatic formality, the state dinner also showcased the richness of culture and art that strengthens the emotional bond between the two nations. The Turkiye Presidential Symphony Orchestra and the Military Band opened the state dinner with their performances. Guests from various circles, including high-level officials, diplomatic representatives, business people, and students, seemed to enjoy the cultural performances that blended harmoniously with the formal state dinner atmosphere.

One of the most memorable moments was when the Presidential Guard Regiment Band performed Indonesian national songs, such as Halo-Halo Bandung and Hari Merdeka (Independence Day). In addition, the Ottoman Military Band also spread a patriotic spirit through songs such as Devlet Marsi, Fetih Marsi, Ceddin Deden, and Genc Osman.

The atmosphere grew more cordial when the Turkiye Presidential Symphony Orchestra played Indonesian folk songs, such as Ayam Den Lapeh and Angin Mamiri. The folk tunes played in modern orchestral arrangements created a unique warmth that reflected the relations between the two nations which are rich in history and full of friendship.

Not only music, the stage was also enlivened by folk dance performances from several regions in Turkiye – from Erzurum to Artvin – which portray the richness of Turkiye culture. The agile movement and colorful costumes of the dancers served as the symbol of the spirit of diversity which is in line with Indonesian national values.

After all the performances, President Prabowo and President Erdoğan stepped on the stage and expressed their appreciation in person to all the performers. With a warm smile, both Heads of State greeted and thanked all the musicians and dancers as a token of appreciation for their outstanding performances.

Both Heads of State also greeted the attending guests. The atmosphere was full of intimacy when they took the opportunity to take selfies together. This state dinner served not only as a symbol of respect but also as a cultural bridge that strengthened the friendship between Indonesia and Turkiye.
