President Prabowo Subianto Welcomes Nine New Ambassadors, Marking Start of Their Diplomatic Missions in Indonesia
President Prabowo Subianto Tuesday (06/09) received Letters of Credence from nine new Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary (LBPP) of Friendly Countries to the Republic of Indonesia in an official ceremony at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta.
The presentation of Letters of Credence formally marked the start of the ambassadors’ diplomatic duties in Indonesia and underscored the strengthening of relations between Indonesia and its partner countries.
The ceremony began with an official welcome for the ambassadors at the palace.
Upon their arrival, the national anthems of each country were played as a mark of respect for the representatives of the friendly nations.
The ambassadors then proceeded one by one into the credential room to present their Letters of Credence to the President, who personally received the official documents.
The nine ambassadors are as follows:
- Manuel Estuardo Roldan Barillas, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Guatemala to the Republic of Indonesia;
- Sultan bin Mubarak Saad Al-Dosari, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Indonesia;
- Abdirashid Salat Abdille, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kenya to the Republic of Indonesia;
- Ratu Isoa Delamisi Tikoca, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Fiji to the Republic of Indonesia;
- Redouane Houssaini, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Morocco to the Republic of Indonesia;
- Maria Gabriela Vieira Soares de Albergaria, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Portuguese Republic to the Republic of Indonesia;
- Bernardo Brea Rodriguez, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Panama to the Republic of Indonesia;
- Hong Kwang Il, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea to the Republic of Indonesia; and
- Antonio Rodrigues Jose, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Mozambique to the Republic of Indonesia.
Following the presentation of their Letters of Credence, each ambassador participated in an official photo session with President Prabowo Subianto.
The President then received the envoys on the palace’s rear veranda, where they conveyed greetings and messages from their respective heads of state and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening diplomatic ties with Indonesia.
Following the meeting, the ambassadors took their leave of President Prabowo Subianto before proceeding to the front steps of the palace, where the ceremony was formally concluded.
The ceremony concluded with the playing of Indonesia’s national anthem, “Indonesia Raya.” On this occasion, Indonesia also reaffirmed its commitment to further strengthening friendship, bilateral cooperation, and strategic partnerships with partner countries across regions.
