Press Statement of President of the Republic of Indonesia after the Meeting with King Abdullah II, Amman, Jordan, Monday, April 14, 2025
Journalist
Sir, what do you think about the meeting?
President of the Republic of Indonesia (Prabowo Subianto)
We discussed measures to boost cooperation in various sectors, including in education, science, technology, and economic sectors. Here [in Jordan], we purchased a large quantity of phosphate and potash for our fertilizers since their prices are among the most affordable in the world.
We also discussed the Gaza issue – how we can help in terms of humanitarian aspect. We also called for reaching an immediate cease fire and we would like to offer what we can to accelerate the peace process.
Journalist
Sir, discussions with five countries have been carried out. So, what is the result,
President of the Republic of Indonesia (Prabowo Subianto)
Alhamdulillah, we gained a clear update. We hope that, perhaps in the near future, a breakthrough towards a better direction could be achieved. We certainly have to consider and defend the interests of all parties, particularly the interests of the people of Palestine. That think that is all.
Journalist
Sir, can you tell us a bit about your close relationship with King Abdullah? A lot of warm moments that drew the attention of the public. How close it is, Sir?
President of the Republic of Indonesia (Prabowo Subianto)
Indeed, we have been friends since we were young. Now, we are still young at heart, we are best friends. Thank you.
