President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)

Alhamdulillah, this is the first landing. Everything went well and smoothly, and this was the first time I landed at Nusantara Airport.

Many know that this is a VVIP airport. I already ordered Minister of Transportation to convert this airport into a commercial hub to accommodate regular flights, including Hajj and Umrah services. The airport’s initial capacity is expected to reach 200,000 passengers by the end of the year, with a projected annual capacity of 7 million passengers once it is fully operational as a commercial airport.

Journalists
Is there any evaluation from you, Sir?

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)
The landing was very smooth, and I think the building was splendid. It’s not too big, but it’s more than enough.

Journalists
When will commercial flights begin, Sir?

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)
Well, it will begin after the process is complete and the regulations are signed.

Journalists
What are the considerations for changing the airport from VVIP to commercial, Sir?

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)
To be more useful, the airport should not only accommodate VVIPs. It would be more useful if Umrah or Hajj pilgrims and those who want to leave and come to Nusantara could go through the airport. This way, the airport will be more beneficial to the general public.

Journalists
You will work in your office in Nusantara again today. What is the agenda, Sir?

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)
There will be groundbreaking ceremonies for several foreign companies’ investors in the Nusantara. There are three foreign companies and a national private company. Also, the inauguration of several completed projects.

Journalists
In which sectors they’ve invested, Sir?

President of the Republic of Indonesia (Joko Widodo)
You will find out tomorrow.
