Innalillahi wainnailaihi rajiun. (Verily, to God we belong and verily, to Him we shall return). Bapak Dr. H. Hamzah Haz has passed away at the age of 84 this morning. On behalf of the Government, the nation, and Indonesian people, I would like to express my deepest condolences. He was as a statesman who showed great devotion to the nation and the state, not only during his term of office as the vice president from 2001 to 2004 but also in many other roles he took on.
