2020 Dubai World Expo: Take Every Economic Opportunity, President Jokowi Says

Indonesia should grab all economic opportunities during 2020 Dubai World Expo to be held from 20 October 2020 to 10 April 2021, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has said.

“As many as 192 participants from various countries will join the event which is expected to attract 25 million visitors. The event can be a hub to build an economic bridge between Indonesia and Africa-Middle East countries as the emerging economies,” President Jokowi said on a Limited Meeting on Preparation of 2020 Hannover Messe and 2020 World Expo Dubai, Monday (17/2), at the Presidential Office, Jakarta.

With such a long period of exhibition, the President ordered the Indonesian committee to run selection process, including curation on products, art performances, and national day event.

”Make sure the events are attractive, offering investment opportunities, superior innovation products, as well as promote our rich and diverse tourism products,” President Jokowi said, adding that Indonesian cultural wealth such as traditional dances, traditional clothes, handicrafts, culinary, traditional music instruments, and hospitality, should be fully exposed during the event.
