President Jokowi Thanks KPU, Bawaslu, Polri, TNI for Safe and Smooth Regional Elections

President Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo thanked the General Election Commission (KPU), the Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu), the Indonesian National Police (Polri), the Indonesian National Defense Forces (TNI), and all security apparatus who have worked hard so that the Simultaneous Regional Elections in 101 regions all over the country could proceed safely and smoothly.

The President also thanked the people who have participated in the elections, which were held on Wednesday (15/2).

“I would like to call on everyone to always prioritize brotherhood, togetherness, and unity,” the President said in his press release at the Merdeka Palace on Thursday (16/2).

President Jokowi added that prioritizing brotherhood, togetherness, and unity is important so the Government can be immediately focused on development programs that bring prosperity and social justice for all Indonesian people.

Joining the President in the press conference were Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Wiranto, Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Minister of Home Affairs Tjahjo Kumolo, and Presidential Spokesperson Johan Budi SP. (DNA/ES) (EP/YM/Naster)
