President Jokowi Talks About Sea Toll Concept on YouTube

President Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo on Sunday (19/2) through a video uploaded on YouTube explained the idea behind the Sea Toll concept launched in the beginning of his administration.

“Our ancestors were seafarers. Our ancestors triumphed because they could conquer the seas. They could make the most of the seas. By learning from the wisdom of our ancestors, I view seas as opportunities, instead of barriers. Therefore, we came up with the concept of the Sea Toll,” the President said.

According to the President, the sea toll consists of six shipping routes free of barriers connecting seaports and islands all over Indonesia.

After all seaports and islands are connected with the Sea Toll, President Jokowi hopes there will be no more commodity shortage, such as basic food shortage, fuel shortage, or cement shortage.

“We also hope that with the Sea Toll, prices of commodities will be cheaper all over Indonesia,” the President said.

Therefore, President Jokowi believes that with the Sea Toll, economic equality will be achieved.

“Seas will become sources of glory and progress for Indonesia in the 21^st century,” the President affirmed. (UN/ES) (EP/YM/Naster)
