President Jokowi: Indonesias Economy Ranks 3rd Among G20 Countries

Indonesias economy remained robust and grew steadily at 5.17 percent or ranks third among G20 countries, behind China and India, amid global economic uncertainty in the past four years, President Joko Jokowi Widodo said.
Numerous countries cannot maintain their economic growth and (their economy) has dropped below 1-2 percent, said the President at the Inauguration & Conferment of Indonesian Peoples Market Awards and the opening of Ministry of Trade Working Meeting, at Hall 3a ICE BSD, Tangerang Regency, Tuesday (12/3).
In addition, President Jokowi explained that compared to that of 2014, the countrys inflation rate stood at 8.3 percent, then declined to 3.3 percent, 3.02 percent, 3.61 percent and 3.13 percent for the following years, respectively.
Inflation means price control. With the aforementioned figures, it means that the Government managed to control the price, the President said, adding that price hike for a number of commodities is normal as long as the inflation can be measured.
On that occasion, President Jokowi presented awards to 14 markets with categories of The Best Revitalization Markets, The Most Environmentally-friendly Markets, The Best Markets for People with Special Needs and The Best Market Managers. (DND / JAY / ES)
