Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung congratulated Faculty of Communication of Padjadjaran University (Unpad) and wished the Faculty to bring harmony in materializing the advanced Padjadjaran University.
“Study at Unpad’s Faculty of Communication has so much fun. Even though there’s a lot of assignments, it was fun,” Pramono said in a public lecture during the 60th Dies Natalis of Faculty of Communication of Padjadjaran University, from the Bogor Presidential Palace, West Java, Friday (18/9).
According to the Cabinet Secretary, students must do and complete the assignment once it was handed out by the lecturers. Therefore, they will have time to think about the other things afterwards.
On that occasion, he also talked about COVID-19 pandemic and stated that there is no international organization that can predict when the pandemic will end, including the World Health Organization (WHO), G-20, Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), or Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
“We can only try to find the vaccine as soon as possible and give it to the people. For that reason, Indonesia has cooperated with China and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in vaccine development. Hopefully, all Indonesians can receive the vaccine by December or January,” he said.
Chinese company Sinovac, he added, is committed to providing Indonesia 190 million vaccines including 30 million doses of vaccines produced in the UAE. On the other hand, locally-developed COVID-19 “Merah Putih” has entered clinical trials and is predicted to be mass-produced in mid-2021.
“By doing so, we can gradually solve the COVID-19 pandemic,” he stated.
Pramono added that completing the vaccine, be it the Sinovac, Sinopharm, Levi, or “Merah Putih” is not the end of COVID-19 because the vaccine should be given to the people once or twice a year. Thus, all people must prepare and adapt to the situation.
“The Government has conducted reforms in several sectors, including the financial sector, education, bureaucratic, public servants, and so on to prepare ourselves for the upcoming situation,” he explained. (TGH/EN)
