Gov’t Announces Winners of MSMEs Digital Heroes
Public Relations of Ministry of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises
Coinciding with the commemoration of the 92nd Youth Pledge Day, on Wednesday (28/10), the jury of MSMEs Digital Heroes program had selected the ten best startups that have provided digital solutions for micro, small and medium enterprises.
The virtual awards ceremony was attended by Minister of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises Teten Masduki, Presidential Staffer Putri Tanjung, Managing Director of Grab Indonesia Neneng Goenadi, and President Commissioner of the SEA Group Pandu Patria Sjahrir. For the record, these ten startups will become strategic partners for Ministry of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises and will receive special prizes.
Since August 2020, there were a number of activities that have been held, including inspirational talk shows, a boot camp, and pitching sessions. Out of 126 participants, 20 selected startups that participated in the pitching sessions then competed for the top 10.
Through a rigorous selection process, the jury, consisting of Presidential Staffer Putri Tanjung, Special Staff of Ministry of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises Fiki Satari, Vice President of Telkomsel’s Transformation Management Office Andry Firdiansyah, Managing Director of Grab Indonesia Neneng Goenadi, Vertical Lead of Facebook Companies Aldo Rambie, and Head of Public Policy & Government Relations of Shopee Indonesia Radityo Triatmojo had selected the top 10 MSMEs Digital Heroes of 2020. They were Kopral, Restoku, Belanjaikan.com, Femalepreneur.id, Krealogi, Bonsay, Credibook, Chatbiz.id, Auto Pilot Store, and Mantab.id.
These businesses have made innovations and provided interesting digital solutions, such as managing supply chain in the fishery sector, acting as a bridge between fishermen and consumers, transforming traditional street vendors, as well as digitalizing cooperatives.
The top three winners of MSMEs digital heroes were Credibook, Chatbiz.id, and Krealogi. Credibook, the first winner, is a digital platform that focuses on financial services. It also built a digital ecosystem between the consumers, MSMEs actors, and suppliers. Smart chat assistant provider Chatbiz.id came in second place. It helps MSMEs to manage social commerce for 24 hours non-stop. The third winner, Krealogi, focuses on supply chain management for MSMEs, crafts, and fashion, especially in Eastern Indonesia.
On that occasion, the Minister expressed appreciation to the winners of MSMEs Digital Heroes program. He said that the program initiated by Presidential Staffer Putri Tanjung was highly relevant to the current situation.
“You are all Digital Heroes. I personally congratulate the ten winners. We are all happy tonight,” the Minister said.
The Minister also expressed appreciation for all innovators involved in digital innovation development. In an attempt to accelerate digital transformation or MSMEs digitilization, the presence of these young innovators is a blessing. “It is remarkable. The young generation in the regions are quite innovative. This also shows that our millennial generation across the country is full of creative ideas. We need to support their innovation concepts,” he said.
Furthermore, the Minister expressed hope that the MSMEs Digital Heroes Program can be carried out again next year and there will be more young innovators supporting MSMEs. “We want to prepare MSMEs to be ready to compete in both domestic and international markets,” he added.
Presidential Staffer Putri Tanjung also expressed her appreciation for the success of the winners. “They are all really good and very impressive. They are all awesome,” Putri said.
According to her, it was difficult to select the best 10 startups out of the 20 startups that had pitching sessions with the jury. Each startup has its own advantages and uniqueness in providing digital solutions. “I hope this Youth Pledge Day will become a moment for all Indonesian young people to continue to do good deeds by fostering innovations that can make our MSMEs even more prosperous,” she said.
