Statement of President of the Republic of Indonesia on the Third Dose of Vaccination, Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, January 11, 2022
Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh,
Ladies and Gentlemen,
Starting January 12, 2022, the Government is set to carry out the third dose of vaccination by prioritizing the elderly and the vulnerable groups. This measure is important to boost the people’s immunity following the mutated COVID-19 strain.
To that end, I have decided to provide the third dose free of charge to all Indonesians since people’s safety is crucial.
Terms and conditions for the recipients of booster vaccine are those with a minimum spacing of six months after a full dose of vaccination.
I urge the people to remain disciplined in observing health protocols—wearing a face mask, maintaining a safe distance, and washing hands—despite having been vaccinated for vaccination and discipline in adhering to the health protocols are key to overcoming the COVID-19 pandemic.
That concludes my statement.
I thank you.
Wassalaamu’alaikum warahmatullaahi wabarakaatuh.
