President Jokowi Off to Ukraine for Working Visit

Upon the conclusion of a series of meetings in the G7 held at Elmau Castle, Germany, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Tuesday (06/28) headed to Ukraine through Poland to continue his working visit.

Bismillah, the President @Jokowi is now on his way flying to Poland by plane and will continue the trip to Ukraine by direct train for twelve hours,” Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung announced on his personal Instagram account @pramonoanungw.

According to Pramono, the President visits Ukraine and Russia to build peace and he is scheduled to meet Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“The President @Jokowi is scheduled to meet President Zelenskyy and President Putin for a peace-building mission,” Pramono said, adding that the President has thoroughly checked in detail for the visits.

“The President @Jokowi constantly checks every activity in details, including the Ukraine-Russia trips, which is carried out in a very limited group,” he said.

In the meantime, Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno LP Marsudi in Munich Monday (06/27) said she continues to maintain intensive communication with related parties for the President’s visit to Ukraine and Russia.

“I also continue to maintain intensive communication with related parties regarding the President’s visit to Ukraine and Russia. We will also continuously maintain communication with both countries,” Retno remarked.
