Press Statement of President of the Republicof Indonesia regarding Working Visit to Germany at the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Tangerang, Banten Province, April 15, 2023

Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.

This morning the First Lady and I along with a limited delegation will depart for Hannover in Germany.

Indonesia is a partner country at the 2023 Hannover Messe and Indonesia’s theme is “Making Indonesia 4.0”. Hannover Messe is the largest industrial exhibition in Europe and Indonesia is the first ASEAN country to become an official partner country.

I will officially open the Hannover Messe with Chancellor of Germany Olaf Scholz. Moreover, I will also have a bilateral meeting with the Chancellor, as well as meet with several businessmen from the country.

Germany is an important trading and investment partner in Europe, the largest trading partner among European countries, and the fourth largest investor from the European region.

I will return to Jakarta on April 18.
