Statement of President of the Republic of Indonesia on Eid Greetings, April 21, 2023

Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.

After fasting for one month, alhamdulillah, praise to God, we will be able to celebrate Eid and gather with families, parents, and relatives.

This year is the first exodus ahead for Eid [mudik] without the emergency public activity restrictions (PPKM) after we were on the pandemic situation for three years. Indeed, there will be an increase of people’s movement as it will be dense and crowded.

Therefore, I appeal to the public to stay vigilant during mudik and their return.

I wish you a Happy Eid.

Let’s forgive one another. May Allah subhaanahu wa ta’aala accept our deeds of worship during the month of Ramadan.
