Press Statement of President of the Republic of Indonesia after Inspecting State Agricultural Vocational School SMK PPN 1 South Kualuh in North Labuhanbatu Regency, North Sumatra Province, May 17, 2023

[The curriculum] at vocational school should include 60%-70% practice so that on-the-job training placement is vital. I noticed that the seedlings for palm tree here are already of good quality, but [the place] should facilitate [students] to know how to plant, farm well. Thus, we will help improve the facilities including livestock farming practice facilities so that [the students] will understand what a good, clean animal husbandry looks like in order to keep the livestock healthy.

I will provide a number of livestock such as lamb, goat, cow, chicken, and duck [for educational purposes] so that the teachers will be able to provide better lessons to the students. Vocational school is key; vocational school plays an important role in Indonesia’s advancement.
