President Jokowi Filed the Chief of Staff Gen. Gatot Nurmantyo as a Candidate of TNI Commander
President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has submitted the name of Chief of Staff of the Army (KSAD) Gen. Gatot Nurmantyo as TNI Commander candidate to the Chairman of the House of Representatives of RI (DPR-RI). Gen. Gatot Nurmantyo be the sole candidate TNI Commander, to replace General Moeldoko who will retire on August 1, 2015.
Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives, Fahri Hamzah, said that the letter from the President Jokowi recently accepted by leader of the House of Representatives on Tuesday (9/6) afternoon. “There is only one name, Gatot Nurmantyo, KSAD,” said Fahri told reporters at the Parliament Building.
According to Fahri, the President does not explain the reason for the appointment of General Gatot Nurmantyo, as TNI Commander Candidate. President just explained the procedure, because General Moeldoko will retire so it needs to be replaced.
Fit and Proper Test
Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives Fahri Hamzah, expressed that the letter from the President Jokowi, further discussed in the meeting leader of the House of Representatives. The results of the meeting will be forwarded to the Consultative Council (Bamus) of DPR-RI.
Furthermore, the Bamus will forward the letter of President to the House of Representatives Commission I for fit and proper test for candidates of TNI Commander.
