Gebyar Tomini Batik 2015, Held by Cabinet Secretariat is in Great Demand by Visitors

Visitors thronged Gebyar Tomini Batik stand that organized by Cabinet Secretariat in Parigi Moutong, Central Sulawesi, on Friday (19/9).

Gebyar Tomini Batik Stand that organized by the Cabinet Secretariat in cooperation with the Indonesian Batik Foundation, Ministry of Trade, Ministry of Industry, Ministry of Education and Culture, which is held on the sidelines of the implementation of Tomini Sail 2015 in Parigi Moutong, Central Sulawesi, 15-20 September 2015, in great demand by visitors.

Since morning, the visitors thronged the Gebyar Batik Tomini stand that coming from various professions, ranging from students, housewives, government officials, including security personnel who served in the event of Tomini Sail 2015.<

Besides watching the archipelago batik collection and consultation with some batik designers, visitors can also try directly to make batik, at Nusantara Gebyar Batik stand.

According to the Vice Chairman of Gebyar Tomini Batik 2015, the implementation of Gebyar Batik on the sidelines of the organization of the Sail Tomini, it has been done since the organization Sail Raja Ampat, in the district of Raja Ampat, West Papua, 2014 last.

“The goal is to develop and explore the potential of local batik, so it can be known by national and international community,” Arief said, in Parigi Moutong, Central Sulawesi, on Friday (18/9) morning.

He said, currently batik is no longer as a national fashion but has become the world fashion, as evident that the UN agency UNESCO has recognized batik as an intangible world heritage.  (RAH/ES)
