Arrived in Palangkaraya, President Jokowi Review the Smoke Safe Schools

President Jokowi accompanied by First Lady Iriana review the smoke safely schools , in Palangkaraya, Central Kalimantan, on Saturday (31/10) afternoon

President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) accompanied by First Lady Iriana and the entourage arrived in Tjilik Riwut Airport, Palangkaraya, Central Kalimantan, on Saturday (31/10) at 10:30 pm, after flying from Sultan Taha Airport Jambi.

After a short rest, the President Jokowi and the entourage go directly to the banks of the Kahayan River, to review the school “smog safely class”, i.e. State Elementary School (SDN) 8, Pahandut, Palangkaraya. To reach the location of the school we have to walk through a 300-meter Ulin footbridge.

On the way of President Jokowi and the entourage to the SDN 8 was hailed by the people who have been waiting for him since morning. They eagerly waited lined up along footbridge, in order to shake hands with the President.

On the location of SDN 8, President Jokowi directly reviewing the air filtration room for the evacuation of children, especially those who cannot tolerate the smoke of forest fires. President and First Lady also took a dialogue with teachers and students of the SDN 8 when entering the class.

Before leaving the state primary school (SDN) 8 Pahandut, President Joko Widodo and First Lady Iriana photographed together with elementary school students.

Accompanying the President Jokowi and First Lady Iriana in the visit, among others Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security, Luhut B. Pandjaitan, Coordinating Minister PMK Puan Maharani, Minister of Education and Culture Anies Baswedan, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Agung,  Ministry of Environment and Forestry Siti Nurbaya, Minister PUPR Basuki Hadimuljono, Chief Staff of the President Teten Masduki, and Head of BNPB Willem Rampangilei. While from the ranks of regional leaders, among others, Governor of Central Kalimantan Hadi Wibowo and Head of Education Office of Palangkaraya Hj Nurma Hekman.  (SKT/OJI/ES)
