Arriving in Paris, President Jokowi Ready to Submit Indonesian Contributions on Climate Change
After staying overnight in Paris, France, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) will start its activities at the Conference of Parties (COP) 21 or the Paris Climate Conference. The first event that is followed by President Jokowi is the Welcoming Ceremony of Leaders of COP 21 CMP 11, which held at the Parc des Expositions du Bourget.
Upon arrival in the lobby, French President François Hollande and UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon will welcome President Jokowi. After all the Heads of State and Government have been present, then held the event photographed together.
The Communication Team of President, Ari Dwipayana, in a press release on Monday (30/11) morning conveyed, Jokowi President will deliver a statement at the session of Heads of State/Government Statement.
“In that session, the President will conveyed Indonesia’s full support for the success of COP21 as well as providing moral support to the French amid acts of terrorism that hit that country recently,” Ari said.
In addition, President Jokowi will also conveyed Indonesia’s contribution to climate change issues, especially in encouraging the full realization of the principle of common but differentiated responsibility. It is important that developing countries can contribute more in climate change issues.
Moreover, on the sidelines of the conference on the first day, President Jokowi will hold a bilateral meeting with President of Serbian, Tomislav Nikolic, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Norway Erna Solberg, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of the Netherlands Mark Rutte, and President of Peru Ollanta M. Humala Tasso.
President Jokowi is also scheduled to attend Forest Event that initiated by Norway, England, and Peru as well as also scheduled to attend the Mission Innovation Event.
Before leaving France to return to the homeland, according to the plan, the President will also review the Indonesia Pavilion in the area of implementation of the UNFCCC COP21. (ES)/Sy.
