President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) conveyed that the decision over who should handle the development of Jakarta-Bandung fast train project, will be presented by the government at the end August 2015, after obtaining input from the selected consultant.

“At the end of this month we will decide, after going through the assessment stages of the consultant who will provide advice to the government,” President Joko Widodo said after the commemoration of National Children’s Day 2015 in Bogor Palace, Tuesday (11/8).

According to the President, an assessment of the potential investors who will handle the development of Jakarta-Bandung fast train project involves all aspects, both in terms of costs, the technical side, construction and technology. “We are also counting on long-term cooperation, local content and other matter. If there is a decision, we shall announce it later,” Jokowi said.

When asked about the consultant that will be selected, the President said, would be selected that there is no conflict of interests. President explained that a feasibility study of the railway project quickly Jakarta-Bandung was already 100 percent complete, and Monday (10/8) has been submitted to the Government of Indonesia.

As reported previously the President Jokowi received the results of a feasibility study on the fast train project Jakarta-Bandung from the Chinese Government, which conveyed PRC government, through the Minister of National Development and Reform Commission of China Xu Shaoshi, at the State Palace, Jakarta, Monday (10/8) yesterday.

“The Government has accepted the results of the studies and will study as well as decide as soon as possible,” said Sofyan told reporters at a joint press conference with the Minister of National Development and Reform Commission Xu Shaoshi, after a meeting with President Jokowi.  (WID/ES)
