The Indonesian Government has guaranteed that the B30 program—or the mandatory use of biofuel 30% of biodiesel—will not affect the biodiesel selling price for the public.

“The selling price of biodiesel at gas stations will not increase, which is Rp5,150 per liter,” Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Arifin Tasrif told reporters in Jakarta, Friday (27/12).

As previously reported, there is currently an upward trend in the price of crude palm oil (CPO). The increase is influenced by the rising demands for CPO and one of the factors is presumably the implementation of the B30 program, which is effective in January 2020.

Despite an increase in the prices for the raw material for B30 fuel, Arifin added, the Government will strive to make the price of biodiesel remain stable since the price gap will be borne through the incentives of the Palm Oil Plantation Fund Management Agency (BPDP KS).

For the record, the formula for the basic price of diesel fuel still refers to the 95 percent of market index price formula of diesel oil plus at Rp802 per liter.

In accordance with Decree of Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Number 1980K/10/MEM/2018 on Market Prices of Oil Fuel Prices, diesel fuel market index price is based on 100 percent publication price of Mean Oil Platts Singapore (MOPS) type of Gas Oil 0.25 percent sulfur.
