In a bid to boost the people’s immunity following the mutated COVID-19 strain, the Government has announced it will carry out the third dose of vaccination on January 12, 2022 by prioritizing the elderly and the vulnerable groups.

“I have decided to provide the third dose free of charge to all Indonesians since people’s safety is crucial,” President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo said in a press statement at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Tuesday (01/11).

The recipients of booster vaccine, the President continued, are those with a minimum spacing of six months after a full dose of vaccination.

The Head of State also urged the people to remain disciplined in observing health protocols despite having been vaccinated.

“Vaccination and discipline in adhering to the health protocols are key to overcoming the COVID-19 pandemic,” he remarked. (FID/UN) (GWH/EP)
