The Palace denied rumors saying President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo to put several regions in Indonesia under partial lockdown in order to curb the spread of Coronavirus (Covid-19). Press, Media, and Information Bureau of the Presidential Secretariat confirmed that the hoax which used the President’s name was not based on President Jokowi’s statement or the Palace’s.

As of Monday (16/3), Indonesia has recorded 17 new infections of covid-19, bringing the total confirmed cases to 134,  the Government’s spokesperson on covid-19 Achmad Yurianto has announced. “Based on the latest information, 17 more people tested positive for the virus,” Achmad said during the press statement on Monday (16/3).
