First Lady Iriana Jokowi Hosts Spouse Program During ASEAN Summit

First Lady Ibu Iriana Jokowi hosted a series of activities for spouses of ASEAN leaders and partners at the Archipelago Park of Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII), Jakarta, Wednesday (09/06).

“I hope that everyone will enjoy the activities that I will host in Jakarta,” she said.

Several cultural performances have been prepared to be showcased to the spouses of ASEAN leaders and partners. The cultural performances began with a theatrical performance of “Si Pitung and Aminah” played by Indonesian children.

On the occasion, the First Lady also invited the spouses of ASEAN leaders and partners to play angklung, a traditional musical instrument from West Java province. Afterward, a theatrical performance was performed depicting a story of children’s journey to sail to the Nusantara Capital (IKN) on the island of Kalimantan.

The session ended with a skydiving performance by female members of the Indonesian National Defense Forces (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (Polri).

In addition, the First Lady also introduced Indonesia to the spouses by visiting the regions’ pavilions at the location.

“We can also see the mini version of Indonesia. Perhaps, you can see this one here. This is a mini version of the Indonesian map. Ladies, you are encouraged not only to observe this, but you can also tour the whole of Indonesia,” she said. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat/UN) (FI/MUR)
