First Lady Iriana, OASE KIM Members Attend PKK Movement Unity Day in N. Sumatra

First Lady Ibu Iriana Jokowi, Second Lady Ibu Wury Ma’ruf Amin, and members of Solidarity Act Organization of the Onward Indonesia Cabinet Era (OASE KIM) ─ an organization of Onward Indonesia Cabinet ministers’ spouses ─ attended the commemoration of the 51st Family Empowerment and Welfare (PKK) Movement Unity Day (HKG) at Santika Premiere Dyandra Hotel, Medan city, North Sumatra province, Wednesday (05/17).

“I would like to once again congratulate the PKK Movement Unity Day. The PKK movement grows from the grassroot. It prioritizes the principle of participatory work, meaning that it requires the active role from all levels of society,” the First Lady stated.

On the occasion, the First Lady also engaged in a dialogue with several PKK cadres. She expressed appreciation for the spirit of the PKK cadres who have worked tirelessly.

“Thank you very much, because the PKK cadres work harder than civil servants. We do it tirelessly, without being paid. Especially in contests, the cadres are very, very enthusiastic,” she said.

In a dialogue with one of the PKK cadres, Ibu Gandaria, who has been with the organization since 1978, said that she would continue to join the PKK.

“If hopefully God allow me to reach 80 years old, (I will continue joining), ma’am,” she stressed.

“Indeed, PKK cadres are tireless in their spirit, which is certain to prosper PKK. Thank you, Ibu, keep up the spirit of PKK, keep going tirelessly, age is not a big deal,” said Ibu Iriana. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat/AIT) (FI/HD)
