Gov’t Provides More Centralized Isolation Places Outside Java, Bali

The Government has announced it continues to increase the number of centralized isolation facilities for COVID-19 patients, especially outside the islands of Java and Bali.

Those centralized isolation facilities are also available in a number of ships owned by state-owned ships company PT. PELNI.

“The Government is preparing centralized isolation places aboard PELNI’s ships. The trial was carried out in Makassar city and is now being prepared in Medan city, namely on Bukit Raya Ship with a capacity of around 1,000 beds, then in Lampung on Lawit ship with a capacity of around 1,000 beds,” Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto said in a press statement, Monday (16/8).

Similar isolation facilities, according to Airlangga, have also been prepared in West Sumatra capital of Padang, the island of Bitung, North Sulawesi province, West Papua provincial capital of Sorong and Papua provincial capital of  Jayapura.

Other facilities have also been prepared at hajj dormitories, training facilities, and various other facilities at village, sub-district, and city / district levels.

“The Government would like to express appreciation to the Indonesian National Defense Forces (TNI) and the National Police (Polri), the governors along with the regional ranks, as well as the mayors, regents, chiefs of the regional TNI and Polri in each region who continue to encourage all measures to be integrated,” said Airlangga.
